Frequently Asked Questions

How will seating be arranged on the day of the ordination to the Priesthood?

Seating in the main church is available on a first-come, first-seated basis. There will be reserved seating for clergy, their families, as well as Anthony & Jasmin’s family.

To accommodate everyone comfortably, overflow seating will be available downstairs, once the upstairs sanctuary is at capacity, with a direct livestream of the service. We kindly ask everyone downstairs to maintain the same prayerful, quiet reverence as they would in the main sanctuary, treating the space as a true extension of the church.

A beautiful advantage of sitting downstairs is that the close-up livestream will offer an intimate view of the ordination prayers and rituals.  Also, Communion, Anthony’s Procession and the Baraka will be presented downstairs too.

What should I expect if I choose to sit downstairs?

Sitting downstairs offers a full, active, and blessed participation in the ordination service. The downstairs space will be treated as a true extension of the main sanctuary, featuring:

Direct Livestreaming: A close-up view of the altar, prayers, and ordination rituals.

Sacraments and Blessings: A dedicated Communion station will be set up downstairs, and the traditional procession of the newly ordained priest will pass through, ensuring everyone receives the Eulogia (blessed bread) in the space downstairs.

Fellowship: Following the service, you will have the opportunity to greet the Metropolitan, Bishops, and the new priest, right there. We kindly ask everyone downstairs to maintain a quiet, prayerful, and reverent atmosphere throughout the Liturgy.

We have young children, will there be any special accommodations?

Families with young children are a beloved part of our community, and we want to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort during this long, blessed service:

For Vested Children: Children who are serving and vested (chanter) will sit together with the designated servants in their assigned area. For their safety and the flow of the service, if a child is unable to maintain a reverent focus, they will be gently guided back to sit with their parents.

For Toddlers and Infants: Please note that the primary cry room in the main church will be closed for this event. Instead, a dedicated cry room will be available downstairs, allowing parents to tend to their little ones freely while still fully participating in the service via the livestream. In addition, we will be using the Junior High Sunday School room as a temporary cry room space upstairs.

We kindly ask parents to help us maintain a safe, peaceful, and prayerful environment for this sacred milestone in the history of St. Basil’s Church.

Can I take pictures during the ordination?

You are welcome to take photos while remaining in your assigned seat, but we kindly ask you to not step into the aisles or towards the front of the sanctuary.

The event will be professionally videographed and photographed, and the photos and videos will be shared on stbasil.net

If I cannot attend at the church, how can I watch the ordination?

We will be live-streaming the even to the church’s YouTube channel.

We suggest that you subscribe and turn on all notifications so that you’re alerted when we begin the live stream.
