PEACE AND GRACE!

The Blessed Feast of the Theophany, celebrated on 11 Tobe/19 January

The Blessed Feast of the Theophany, celebrated on 11 Tobe/19 January

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

"The prayer of each is manifest to God; one seeks heavenly things affectionately and one seeks them learnedly; one utters his words perfunctorily with the tips of his lips, but his heart is far from God… Thus, let the tongue sing, let the mind interpret the meaning of what has been said, that you may sing with your spirit, that you may sing likewise with your mind. Not at all is God in need of glory, but He wishes us to be worthy of glory."

-St. Basil the Great, commemorated on 6 Tobe/14 January

CHURCH OPENING!

OUR NEW CHURCH'S GRAND OPENING IS THIS SUNDAY. Construction on the parish is nearly complete! People helped haul all the church items from downstairs to the new church on Sunday, but there's still lots to be done! As clean up and set up continues, please consider helping out. Contact Taunt Nadra to help with clean up this week. To offer other construction help, and to receive email updates on construction needs, please email Bishoy Said.

FOCUS SAN DIEGO

Join volunteers from Orthodox parishes in San Diego every Wednesday to serve with FOCUS to help provide meals for the hungry at 1625 Island Ave., San Diego, CA 92101. Help is needed with cooking, serving, and clean up from 3:00 p.m. onwards. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Jensen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS, VISITATIONS & CONFESSIONS

Please let us know if you have any upcoming important events for us to share with our fellow congregants. Special events are best shared amongst our family, and we encourage you to share your special news with us. In addition, if you would like to schedule a time for a visit or confession with Father Antony Paul, please email him or approach him after the Liturgy on Sunday.

FOOD & CLEAN-UP

To sign up to bring food for the agape meal on Sundays, please fill in the weekly spreadsheet available HERE. We need as many volunteers as possible to keep the church clean on Sundays after the Divine Liturgy. Please consider this important expression of stewardship.
