QUOTE OF THE WEEK

"But having truly all of this, the Physician has come to the sick, and the Sun of Righteousness has dawned for those who sat in darkness, the Anchor and Calm Harbor to those storm-tossed, the Intercessor has been born for the despised slaves, and peace has been united, and the Redeemer of captives has come, the strong unspeakable Joy and Love and Protection has come for those who are embattled. He is our peace, as the divine Apostle says, through Whom we have all received grace, Christ our God, to Whom belong glory to the ages of ages. Amen."

-St. John Chrysostom, on the Annunciation, celebrated 29 Paremhotep/7 April

HOLY WEEK

As Lent concludes and Holy Week is beginning, we prepare for the most holy time of the year, where we remember our Lord's agony, death, and far more importantly: resurrection. The life of the Church is is important, we want to live in and with Christ, and this fast helps us bring our whole spiritual life under review. The service schedule for Holy Week will be sent out on Friday; we invite you and your loved ones to join in as many of the services as possible as we await the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord.

FOCUS SAN DIEGO

Join volunteers from Orthodox parishes in San Diego every Wednesday to serve with FOCUS to help provide meals for the hungry at 1625 Island Ave., San Diego, CA 92101. Help is needed with cooking, serving, and clean up from 3:00 p.m. onwards. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Jensen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS, VISITATIONS & CONFESSIONS

Please let us know if you have any upcoming important events for us to share with our fellow congregants. Special events are best shared amongst our family, and we encourage you to share your special news with us. In addition, if you would like to schedule a time for a visit or confession with Father Antony Paul, please email him or approach him after the Liturgy on Sunday.

FOOD & CLEAN-UP

To sign up to bring food for the agape meal on Sundays, please fill in the weekly spreadsheet available HERE. We need as many volunteers as possible to keep the church clean on Sundays after the Divine Liturgy. Please consider this important expression of stewardship.
