PEACE AND GRACE

Commemoration of the Martyrdom of Saint Timothy the Apostle (November 14 / Hator 5)

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“You visit the earth and water it,
        You greatly enrich it;
        The river of God is full of water;
        You provide their grain,
        For so You have prepared it.
        You water its ridges abundantly,
        You settle its furrows;
        You make it soft with showers,
        You bless its growth.”

Psalm 65:9-10

If you have a son whom you wish to receive the honor and blessing of being ordained a chanter-deacon in the church, please read the below. Typically, he will be at least 6 or 7 years old so he can stand by himself in an focused manner. If interested, please observe the following:

  1. Parents should be committed to bringing the child to church on Sundays and on time.

  2. Provide the name of the child to Fr. Michael Maximous (949-378-0350) by Monday 11/8/21.

  3. At a minimum, the child should know the following four hymns. Click Here to practice them in English. If they know them in Coptic, that would be great too!

    • Alleluia This Is The Day

    • Amen Amen Amen Your Death O Lord

    • May Their Holy Blessings

    • As It Was

  4. Come to the Vespers Raising of Incense prayers at St. Basil’s on Saturday, 11/13/21 to be tested after Vespers

If you have a daughter that you wish to be blessed as a deaconess, please observe the above and bring the child prior to the end of matins on 11/14/21 (prior to 9:00 AM).
