Happy Apostles Fast!

(6/24 - 7/11 - Apostles Feast on 7/12/24)

The Apostles Fast (June 24 - July 11, 2024 / Paona 16 - Abib 4, 1740)

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men condemned to death; for we have been made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored! To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless. And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure; being defamed, we entreat. We have been made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now.

1 Corinthians 4:9-13

Summer Youth Camp (KG - 5th Grade)

Help your children have a fulfilling and spiritually enriching experience this summer! This year, we will use the Diocese prepared material combining Bible Summer Camp with the spiritual competition!

The theme is Fearless Faith: Daniel and the Three Holy Youths’ Bravery in Babylon. Week by week, children will learn about the story of Daniel and his friends—their bravery, their unwavering faith, and the unfolding of God’s perfect plan. In a world where kids face immense pressure to fit in, Daniel's story teaches the importance of staying true to one's faith and identity. Through Daniel's example, children will learn how to stand firm in their Christian values, no matter the challenges they encounter. The curriculum is divided into three comprehension levels: kindergarten to first grade, second to third grade, and fourth to fifth grade.

With learning from the book of Daniel the Prophet, the youth will also learn hymns and have exciting activities. The schedule is below:

  • Tuesday: 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

  • Saturday: 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

  • Sunday: 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. (During Regular Sunday School times)

St. Basil Youth Activities

The Junior High and High School classes had some fun fellowship activities last weekend! The Jr. High School boys spent the night at church where they had a spiritual and fun night attending vespers, bon fire, basketball, learned to make Urbon, and were first to be at church for the Pentecost liturgy! The High School class also had a blast going bowling after the liturgy. God willing many more fellowship activities to come!
