Junior High School Outing!
Last Friday, we had a wonderful outing for the Junior High School Class. A couple High School students showed up too! There was a bonfire, smores, fun at the beach, and we had a spiritual talk and a short prayer on the sand! We look forward to more of these kind of fellowship outings, God willing!
St. Basil’s Bible Study
This week, we will take a slight change in direction from our bible study. It is a “slight” change because we will be discussing the writings a late first century saint! St. Ignatius was the disciple of St. St. Peter and so his writings are very valuable.
Join us as we travel through time for a peek into what the very early church (immediately after the apostles) looked like! Does it look like our church?
Refreshments: 5:15pm - 5:45pm
Discussion: 5:45pm - 6:45pm
Also, on Zoom and YouTube for those who can’t make it to church at 5:45 pm!
Ladies Fellowship Night - Tuesday, October 22nd
The blessed servant of God Samira Doherty was a holy woman who lived close to St. Pope Kyrillos VI when he was patriarch in the 1960s. God gifted her with many virtues and experiences, and she transformed the lives of many around her. The virtue of the Fear of the Lord helps us to unlock one of the important foundations in her spiritual life. Join us as we explore this virtue in a modern day servant who lived in Southern California!
Time: 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM
Topic: Tunt Samira and the Virtue of the Fear of the Lord
Speaker: Fr. Kyrillos Ibrahim - St. Paul’s American Coptic Orthodox Church
RSVP & Potluck Meal: Please RSVP let us know if you can bring a dish!
October 31 | All-Saints Day! |
Mark your calendars for this year’s event on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm! This year, we will have a carnival theme with games and prizes! There will also be a puppy petting zoo from 6:30 pm -7:30pm and lots of other fun games, food, fellowship, and of course candy! It will be very fun for the kiddos and parents alike! And like every year, there will be saint appearances, and each will tell their story (consider volunteering!). Please RSVP so we can know how much candy to bring for the kiddos!
